PENTICTON - Two men taking advantage of Penticton’s cold shelter were ejected after they failed to conduct themselves in keeping with the Christmas spirit.

Cpl. Don Wrigglesworth says Penticton RCMP were called to the cold shelter at Cheers Church overnight Wednesday, Dec. 28, after a complaint about two men fighting.

Police arrived to find one man being assaulted by another. Both men were intoxicated.

Officers removed the aggressor, arresting him for assault. The second man, who was uninjured in the altercation, was also escorted from the shelter.

The arrested man was jailed until he sobered up and later released without charges.
