Two arrested following alleged theft of pilot vehicle

KAMLOOPS - Police recovered a vehicle reported stolen from a Husky gas station earlier today.

Police received a report that a highway pilot vehicle had been stolen at about 12:30 p.m. today from the gas station located on Highway 5. They were told two men had taken off in the vehicle and were heading north with the lights activated.

The vehicle was found a short time later, abandoned on the side of the road, north of Rayleigh.

A police service dog and a helicopter were brought in to help Mounties track the suspects through an area between the highway and the river and both were found and taken into custody. The investigation continues.
