TORONTO - The CBC is getting another sketch comedy series, this time featuring men.

The public broadcaster, which already airs the hit female-led sketch series "Baroness von Sketch Show," says it has greenlit "Tallboyz."

The half-hour show features the four-member Toronto sketch troupe TallBoyz II Men — Vance Banzo, Guled Abdi, Franco Nguyen, and Tim Blair.

Bruce McCulloch of the Kids in the Hall fame and Accent Entertainment president Susan Cavan are the executive producers.

A news release says the comedy troupe explores "themes of friendship, race, nostalgia, toxic masculinity and more in their sketches."

The series will start production in Toronto next month for broadcast on CBC and the CBC Gem streaming service in the fall.

"I am blown away by how funny, fierce and modern they are," McCulloch said Wednesday in a statement. "Very original, surprising and sweet."

Earlier this week the CBC announced it has renewed "Baroness von Sketch Show" for a fourth season.
