TRU WolfPack men’s basketball open up holiday tournament with win

Lancaster, CA - The Thompson Rivers University WolfPack opened up a two game exhibition men’s basketball tournament with a victory.

The WolfPack downed West Coast Baptist College 97-94 Thursday night, Dec. 29, in Lancaster, California.

Thompson Rivers led 45-44 at the half.

Volodymyr Iegorov (5th year, forward, Donetsk, Ukraine) led the way for TRU with 23 points and six rebounds.

Luke Morris (4th year, forward, Mission, BC) added 18 points.

Derek Rhodes (3rd year, guard, Anticoch, CA) scored 18 points and had seven rebounds for TRU while Micheal Rouault (2nd year, guard, Vernon, BC) added 18 points and 10 boards.

TRU closes out their exhibition tournament tomorrow (Fri Dec 30) at 7 pm with a game with the University of Antelope Valley.

The WolfPack return to kick off the second half of their Canada West regular season with four straight home games beginning Friday, January 6, 2017 against the University of Victoria Vikes. Tip off on the Warner Rentals court of the Tournament Capital Centre will be 8 pm.
