Do you really have to go to the coast?

Highway 5 from Kamloops and to the Okanagan through Highway 97C are under travel advisories today, Dec. 19, because of heavy snowfall creating dangerous conditions.

Advisories are expected to remain for the Coquihalla and Coquihalla Connector through to tomorrow.

There is limited visibility on the road because of the heavy snowfall so drivers should exercise caution and be prepared for potential delays, according to Drive B.C..

Drive B.C. recommends drivers consider an alternate route.

Visit Drive B.C. for the most up to date information.

Southbound lanes were closed around 10 a.m. today because of “spun out commercial vehicles”. Again, check Drive B.C. for the latest.

In addition to travel advisories for the Coquihalla and the connector, there are delayed and cancelled flights from Kelowna. Check Kelowna International Airport for the latest news on flights.
