KELOWNA – A man was arrested in a stolen Acura Integra in Kelowna early this week, thanks to a witness’s keen eye.

The suspect was arrested in a parking lot and is facing multiple charges, according to an RCMP media release.

Police received a report of a suspicious situation involving a man in a car in the 2700 block of KLO Road on May 9 at around 6 p.m. The car had been reported stolen on May 8 from the 700 block of KLO Road.

The suspect and a female passenger were arrested in a parking lot in the 1600 block of Leckie Road, police say. The woman was later released without charges.

RCMP say Jamie Michael Sugden, 25, has been charged with possession of stolen property under $5,000, breach of probation and driving while prohibited or suspended.

“RCMP would like to commend our complainant for his quick actions, as he provided police with important detailed information on the incident, the suspect and his associated vehicle,” Cpl. Jesse O’Donaghey says in the release.
