OSOYOOS - B.C. Wildfire crews continue to work small spot fires that began after a lightning storm moved across the South Okanagan yesterday.

B.C. Wildfire fire information officer Taylor MacDonald says three small spot fires of less than a hectare in size began in the Anarchist Mountain area, east of Osoyoos, yesterday afternoon, July 23.

As of this morning, two are considered as being held, and one is under control.

All are believed to have been caused by lightning strikes.

Nine B.C. Wildfire firefighters attended the blazes yesterday along with air tanker support and personnel from the local fire department.

Taylor says a six-man crew continues to work two of the fires this morning.
