KAMLOOPS - The Kamloops Blazers will have three prospects competing for the 2014 Telus Cup for the Midget AAA National Championship in Moose Jaw. Forward Jake Kryski, defenseman Dawson Davidson and goaltender Connor Ingram will all be playing for the Telus Cup from April 21-27.

Kryski was acquired by the Blazers in July 2013 in exchange for 20-year-old goaltender Cole Cheveldave. The recently turned 16-year-old had an outstanding season with 48 points in 37 regular season games with the Okanagan Rockets.

He was instrumental in the playoffs with 11 points which included scoring the game winning goal against the NW Vancouver Giants to win the B.C. Major Midget League Championship.

Kryski suited up in four games with the Blazers this past season and recorded two assists. He is eligible to play with the Blazers full-time for the upcoming 2014-15 WHL season.

The Rockets moved on to play the two-time defending Telus Cup champion Red Deer Optimist Chiefs in the Pacific regional final. Kryski helped the Rockets win the three game series in overtime of game three as the Rockets make their first appearance ever at the Telus Cup.

Defenseman Dawson Davidson was selected by the Blazers in the third round of the 2013 WHL Bantam Draft. The Moosomin, SK native had 39 points in 42 regular season games with the Moose Jaw Generals of the Saskatchewan Midget AAA Hockey League.

Davidson’s Generals lost in the first round of the SMAAAHL playoffs, but are the 2014 Telus Cup tournament hosts.

Goaltender Connor Ingram is a listed player that played this past season with the Prince Albert Mintos of the SMAAAHL. He was the top goaltender in the league posting a 16-4-3-0 record with a 1.98 goals against average and .928 save percentage in 23 games.

The Imperial, SK native’s Mintos lost out in the SMAAAHL playoffs in the second round, but got revenge as they hosted the West regional tournament and defeated the Notre Dame Argos for the right to go to the Telus Cup.

Ingram went 3-0 in the four-team tournament that also included the Winnipeg Wild and Thunder Bay Kings.
