Three Blazers off to NHL training camps

KAMLOOPS – The Kamloops Blazers have three players from their roster that will attend National Hockey League training camps over the next few weeks.

Goaltender Connor Ingram is a free agent invited to the Detroit Red Wings prospect camp. He will play at the 2015 NHL Prospect Tournament in Traverse City, Michigan from Sept. 11 to 15.

The 18-year-old from Imperial, Sask., had a solid year for the Blazers in 2014-15 posting a .904 save percentage and 2.96 goals against average in 52 games as a rookie netminder.

Defenseman Ryan Rehill will head to his second NHL training camp with the New Jersey Devils. The 6’3” and 217-lb defenseman was chosen by the Devils in the sixth round of the 2014 NHL Draft.

Rehill will travel with the Devils rookie team to Buffalo, NY, and play games against the Buffalo Sabres and Boston Bruins rookie teams this week.

The 20-year-old Edmonton, Alta., native is entering his fourth season with the Blazers and posted seven goals and 20 points in 68 games last season. 

Forward Deven Sideroff will be in camp with the Anaheim Ducks after the Ducks selected him in the third round of the 2015 NHL Draft.

The 5’11” and 178-lb native of Summerland will practice in Anaheim on Sept. 11 and play with the Ducks against the San Jose Sharks rookie team on Sept 12 and 13 in San Jose.

Sideroff is entering his second season with the Blazers. The 18-year-old posted 17 goals and 42 points in 64 games last season.
