The Gallery Winery looking to grow along Westside Wine Trail
While already providing a wine tasting room, events and art, the Gallery Winery has applied to take their game one step higher by opening a lounge.
The winery’s liquor licence application went to West Kelowna council, July 12, with a recommendation of support from staff. The plan is to create a lounge and patio for up to 50 people.
“The subject property can be accessed from Carrall or Witt Road, which provides a good connection to the Westside Wine Trail, and the proposal is anticipated to benefit from and contribute to the ongoing success of other operators along the Wine Trail,” states a report that went to city council.
The plan is for 25 seats indoors in the lounge and another 25 on an outdoor covered patio. Proposed hours are from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily.

“The applicant has expressed interest in hosting other events within the lounge space (art shows, paint nights, songwriter circles, writers/authors groups, etc.),” the report says. “The applicant has also indicated that farm-to-table breakfasts, lunch, dinners could be hosted as collaboration with local chefs and bakers pairing their seasonal food with the winery’s wine.”
The Gallery is a relatively new winery with the first grape vines planted in 2015 by sisters Kirstin Wakal and Natasha Campbell.
Both are artists so they incorporate those skills into the winery at 2233 Witt Rd.
