Four tenants and their dog are in the care of emergency social services in Kelowna this morning after a suspicious fire destroyed a RV and severely damaged a nearby garage.

Fire crews were called to the RV fire at around 2:30 a.m. today, April 13, at a home in the 600 block of Gerstmar Road, according to a Kelowna Fire Department media release.

Firefighters knocked down the fire in both the fifth wheel trailer and the detached garage and prevented the flames from catching the nearby house on fire. The trailer burned to the ground and the garage was badly damaged

No one was hurt, and the four tenants and a dog were home at the time made it out of the house safely, the fire department says. They are in the care of emergency social services.

The cause of the fire is suspicious and investigators from the fire department and RCMP are looking into it.
