Police officers responding to an early morning assault in Kelowna today arrived at the scene to find evidence of the crime but no victim nor a suspect.
The assault was reported at around 2:48 a.m. today, Oct. 5, according to an RCMP media release. Police were told a man was bleeding heavily after being assaulted. When they arrived at the 100 block of Gray Road there was evidence of a serious assault.
While searching the surrounding area, police located the victim – a 27-year-old man suffering from severe injuries – on Valleyview Road.
The victim was taken to the hospital and where he is currently receiving medical treatment.

Officers watched video surveillance of the attack, which was allegedly committed by another man who left the scene. He was then located and arrested.
“Events like these are disturbing to our community, but thanks to the quick response by RCMP General Duty Officers the suspect was arrested and is now in jail,” Const. Mike Della-Paolera said in the release.
Investigating the incident is the Kelowna RCMP Robbery Unit, which is being supported by the Kelowna RCMP Forensics Unit.
Anyone who witnessed the incident and has yet to speak with investigators or has a dash camera or other surveillance is asked to call the Kelowna RCMP non-emergency number at 250-762-3300 and reference file number 2022-62923.
