A man who is accused of breaking into a Kamloops residence was taken to the hospital with serious injuries, and another man is suspected of committing assault.
Officers were called to the 600 block of Fortune Drive around 7:45 p.m. yesterday, Jan. 10, according to a media release from the Kamloops RCMP.
They were responding to a report of a break and enter followed by an assault.
“The physical altercation appears to have started inside a residence and worked its way outside,” said Cpl. Crystal Evelyn said in the release. “The investigation is ongoing and includes collecting evidence related to the actions of both parties involved.”
The break and enter suspect’s injuries are described as serious but not life-threatening.
The man accused of assaulting him was taken to jail and released with conditions and a court date.
