Female, 17, charged with assault after 16-year-old stabbed in Surrey, B.C.

SURREY, B.C. - A 17-year-old female has been charged following a weekend stabbing in Surrey, B.C.

Police say a 16-year-old girl was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries on Saturday.

An RCMP news release says the 17-year-old was arrested and faces a charge of aggravated assault.

Police say investigators believe the altercation was isolated and targeted as the alleged victim and the suspect know one another.
