Sunny Easter weekend in store for Kamloops

KAMLOOPS - Kamloops residents can look forward to a mostly sunny weekend following clouds and showers today and tomorrow.

Environment Canada meteorologist Matt MacDonald says a showery pattern will remain over Kamloops until late Friday, but a "great looking weekend" is in store, with nothing but sun on Saturday and Sunday.

Kamloops can expect a 30 per cent chance of showers this morning, April 18, followed by increasing east winds at 20 km/h gusting to 40 and increasing to 60 km/h this afternoon. It will be mild with a high of 19 Celsius and a low of 8 C.

Showers should end Good Friday morning, followed by cloudy skies and a high of 14 C. Winds will be from the west at 30 km/h in the morning.

Saturday and Sunday will be sunny with slightly below seasonally normal temperatures with a high Saturday of 16 C and 19 C expected on Sunday. Overnight lows will dip to 2 C on Saturday night and 3 C Sunday.

For Easter Monday, expect some clouds to move in with a 30 per cent chance of showers and a high of 17 C.

Tuesday the sun returns along with a balmy high of 20 C.

Normal temperatures for this time of year in Kamloops are highs of 18 C and lows of 4 C.
