Sunny but slightly cooler than normal in the Okanagan this weekend

Weekend weather should be ideal for boating in the Okanagan with mostly sunny skies and temperatures slightly below seasonal norms for this time of year.

The sunshine should return to the Okanagan this weekend after a cool and rainy Friday.

Environment Canada calls for sunshine today, Aug. 22, with a high of 26 C and a low overnight of 12 C under clear skies.

Tomorrow in Vernon and Kelowna you can expect to see increasing cloudiness with periods of rain beginning in the morning with a high of 20 C. Skies are forecast to clear overnight dropping the overnight low to 10 C.

In Penticton tomorrow, there is a 60 per cent chance of showers with a high of 21 C and a low of 10 C.

The sun returns on Saturday in the Okanagan with a below-seasonal high of 24 C. Overnight, expect cloudy periods with a low of 12 C.

On Sunday, the weather office predicts a sunny day with a high of 23 C and a low of 11 C.

There should be more sun to start the work week on Monday and Tuesday with highs of 27 C and 25 C respectively.

Normal temperatures for this time of year in the Okanagan are highs of 25 C and lows of 11 C.
