KAMLOOPS - Kamloops residents are in store for a pleasant winter weekend.

Environment Canada meteorologist Bobby Sekhon says a high pressure system building across the southern part of the province will bring above seasonal temperatures for the weekend before more seasonal norms return next week.

“It’s fairly boring weather,” Sekhon says, noting no major storms are on the horizon.

The forecast calls for a mix of sun and cloud today, Jan. 10, with the wind east at 20 km/h gusting to 40 and a high of 4 Celsius. The gusty winds will continue overnight with a low of 1 C.

Expect a mix of sun and cloud tomorrow with a high of 3 C and an overnight low of -2 C.

Saturday and Sunday are expected to be sunny with highs of 2 C and 1 C respectively, with lows dipping to 0 C on Saturday night and -2 C on Sunday.

The sunshine continues Monday with a high of -1 C.

Normal temperatures for this time of year in Kamloops are highs of -1 C and lows of -8 C.
