Sun will return later this week in the Okanagan

Cloudy skies and the possibility of showers in the Okanagan will persist today and tomorrow but the rest of the week promises to be sunny and pleasant.

KELOWNA - Okanagan residents can look forward to mainly sunny skies for most of the work week.

Environment Canada says a 40 per cent threat of showers in Vernon and Kelowna late this morning will continue into the afternoon, with 20 km/h winds from the south gusting to 40 later today, April 22, with a high of 18 Celsius expected.

The showers are expected to end early this evening under partly cloudy skies and an overnight low of 7 C.

Tuesday, expect a mix of sun and cloud with a 40 per cent chance of showers in the afternoon and a high of 18 C.

In Penticton, the risk of showers is 30 per cent today, with cloudy conditions expected on Tuesday.

Winds will be from the south at 20 km/h, gusting to 40 in the afternoon.

It will clear overnight Tuesday, with a low of 4 C, followed by sunny skies Wednesday with a high of 17 C.

The sunshine continues through Thursday and Friday with expected highs of 18 C on Thursday and 16 C on Friday.

Friday night could see a 40 per cent possibility of showers throughout the valley.

Next weekend’s forecast is for a mix of sun and clouds with a 60 per cent chance of showers Saturday night, and highs of 16 C on Saturday and 15 C on Sunday.

The normal high and low for Vernon, Kelowna and Penticton is 17 And 3 C.
