KAMLOOPS - On Tuesday, July 5, guests of Sun Peaks Resort can enjoy a full day of lift-accessed activities for only five dollars.

Previously known as ‘Toonie Day', Sun Peaks Resort will be increasing charitable efforts with the introduction of the all new ‘High Five Day'. A donation of $5 per person plus a non-perishable food item, will provide guests with a lift ticket for the day (sightseeing, hike, or bike). This summer, all funds raised will be going to assist the fire relief efforts in Fort McMurray, and the food items collected will be donated to the Kamloops Food Bank.

The Sun Peaks community and BC interior as a whole has a long history with wildfires. Subsequently, the region has a high level of respect and appreciation for the hard work put forth by fire rescue personnel across the country.

"We are really excited to introduce 'High Five Day' this summer to our visitors. Not only will our guests get to experience a full day of lift-accessed activities on the mountain, but they will be helping a fantastic cause in the process," says Aidan Kelly, Director of Sales and Marketing, Sun Peaks Resort. "And with our new summer chairlift hours extended until 7pm, their 5 dollar donation will go even further."

This past winter, skiers and riders donated approximately 3,500 pounds of food and helped raise over $8,500 en route to recording the most successful fundraising day in the event’s history, dating back to 1999.

For more information, and a full list of activities offered at the resort, please contact guest services at, 250-578-5474 or visit the Sun Peaks Resort website.
