Most actively traded companies on the TSX, TSX Venture Exchange markets

TORONTO - Some of the most active companies traded Monday on the Toronto Stock Exchange and the TSX Venture Exchange:

Toronto Stock Exchange (13,495.54 down 53.32 points):

Colossus Minerals Inc. (TSX:CSI). Miner. Down one cent, or 15.38 per cent, to 5.5 cents on 7.37 million shares.

B2Gold Corp. (TSX:BTO). Miner. Up four cent, or 1.73 per cent, to $2.35 on 4.51 million shares. The TSX gold sector finished up about 0.65 per cent even as February bullion edged 60 cents lower to US$1,238 an ounce. The trading year is only days old but the gold component is already the best performer, up more than three per cent over the past week after plunging almost 50 per cent in 2013.

Coastal Energy Co. (TSX:CEN). Oil and gas. Up 11 cents, or 0.58 per cent, to $18.97 on 4.33 million shares.

Goldcorp Inc. (TSX:G). Miner. Up 19 cents, or 0.80 per cent, to $23.90 on 3.42 million shares.

Eastern Platinum Ltd. (TSX:ELR). Miner. Unchanged at eight cents on 3.19 million shares.

Lundin Mining Corp. (TSX:LUN). Miner. Unchanged at $4.64 on 3.13 million shares.

Toronto Venture Exchange (946.05 up 1.34 points):

Border Petroleum Corp. (TSXV:BOR). Oil and gas. Unchanged at half-a-cent on 8.41 million shares.

Brookemont Capital Inc. (TSXV:BKT). Up half-a-cent, or 20 per cent, to three cents on 4.28 million shares.

Companies reporting major news:

Air Canada (TSX:AC.B). Airline. Down 11 cents, or 1.47 per cent, to $7.39 on 1.11 million shares. The company's planes flew with a record percentage of filled seats in December as its load factor increased to 82.7 per cent from 82.1 per cent a year earlier. Fuelled by a 6.4 per cent boost in U.S. transborder traffic, total system-wide traffic increased 4.8 per cent on a four per cent increase in capacity.

BlackBerry Ltd. (TSX:BB). Wireless communications. Up 42 cents, or 5.19 per cent, to $8.51 on 3.05 million shares. The troubled smartphone maker has hired Ron Louks, who has held senior positions at HTC America Inc. and Sony Ericsson, to help develop the company's product road map.

Enbridge Inc. (TSX:ENB). Oil and gas. Down 42 cents, or 0.91 per cent, to $45.67 on 1.08 million shares. The company has announced a deal to invest US$200 million in a 110-megawatt wind project in Texas.

Kirkland Lake Gold Inc. (TSX:KGI). Miner. Down 40 cents, or 13.33 per cent, to $2.60 on 879,994 shares. The company said Monday that it has launched a strategic review, which could include a sale of assets or an offering of shares.
