Most actively traded companies on the TSX, TSX Venture Exchange markets

TORONTO - Some of the most active companies traded Friday on the Toronto Stock Exchange and the TSX Venture Exchange:

Toronto Stock Exchange (12,816.03 down 7.59 points):

Cline Mining Corp. (TSX:CMK). Miner. Up two cents, or 12.50 per cent, at 18 cents on 16,541,514 shares.

Research In Motion Ltd. (TSX:RIM). Wireless technology. Down 19 cents, or 1.07 per cent, at $17.61 on 8,386,975 shares. The company gave back some of its recent gains after rising 12 per cent this week in anticipation for its new BlackBerry 10 lineup, to be unveiled next week.

Kinross Gold Corp. (TSX:K). Miner. Down 42 cents, or 4.67 per cent, at $8.58 on 8,081,440 shares. The gold sector was the leading decliner on the main index, dropping 2.23 per cent to 280.59 points. Bullion closed down $13.30 at US$1,656.60 an ounce on the New York Mercantile Exchange.

Bombardier Inc. (TSX:BBD.B). Transportation equipment. Down 10 cents, or 2.44 per cent, at $3.99 on 7,566,543 shares.

Baja Mining Corp. (TSX:BAJ). Miner. Up 1.5 cents, or 15.79 per cent, at 11 cents on 6,072,323 shares.

Terra Energy Corp. (TSX:TT). Oil and gas explorer. Up half a cent, or 2.04 per cent, at 25 cents on 5,971,000 shares.

TSX Venture Exchange (1,227.26 down 2.20 points):

Rodinia Oil Corp. (TSXV:ROZ). Oil and gas. Up three cents, or 54.55 per cent, at 8.5 cents on 7,497,450 shares.

Petroamerica Oil Corp. (TSXV:PTA). Oil and gas. Down 3.5 cents, or 8.86 per cent, at 36 cents on 6,230,726 shares.

Companies reporting major news:

Fortress Paper Ltd. (TSX:FTP). Specialty pulp and paper. Down $2.07, or 19.24 per cent, at $8.69 on 297,352 shares. The company said the startup at its co-generation project at its Quebec speciality cellulose mill will be delayed and costs will rise by as much as 20 per cent.

Open Text Corp. (TSX:OTC). Software. Down 20 cents, or 0.33 per cent, at $69.68 on 213,526 shares. Higher revenue helped the business software company's second-quarter profit jump 30 per cent. Its revenue totalled $352.2 million, up from a year-earlier's $321.5 million.
