PENTICTON - The City of Penticton is making preparations to brush the winter’s dust off city streets.

Next week city work crews will begin annual cleaning of city streets, starting with priority roadways on March 26, with sweeping operations scheduled to start at 4 a.m. for safety and efficiency reasons.

The program is expected to run through the second week of June. Sand removal on sidewalks and sweeping of traffic islands and bridges will also begin next week, in conjunction with road sweeping in rural areas.

The city also noted in its press release issued March 22 the city will follow it’s annual street cleaning with its line marking program, expected to begin in mid-April.
