South Okanagan Ford F-350 thieves strike again, this time in Summerland

SUMMERLAND - Police got close to catching a man and woman police believe are responsible for a series of crimes throughout the South Okanagan but not quite.

Summerland RCMP were called to Garnet Valley Road around 3:45 p.m. yesterday, Dec. 21, to an interrupted break and enter, but the suspects fled before they were caught, Cpl. Chris Richardson said in a media release. He said they deployed a "large police presence" to search the area including by air.

Police believe they are looking for a green Ford F-350 with B.C. licence plate JT5483 which was reported stolen from Oliver earlier yesterday.

"Initial information indicates these persons may be the suspects related to multiple thefts of Ford pickups and break and enters in the Okanagan Valley," Richardson said in the release. "We recognise that while the search was ongoing, some residents were unable to access their residences. We would like to thank all those affected for your patience and continued support."

If you have any information about this crime, please contact your local RCMP.
