From November 20th through to the 27th, communities across Canada and around the world will be recognizing Restorative Justice Week 2016. Locally, the Penticton and South Okanagan Similkameen RCMP Restorative Justice Program will be working to raise community awareness of its Restorative Justice Program.

A series of presentations and a special event with our community partners in the South Okanagan Similkameen will be offered in all of the larger centres that are served by the program, including Penticton, Oliver, Osoyoos, Keremeos and Princeton.

Your host for those events, Mark Provencal, the Community Policing Coordinator for Restorative Justice & Community Partnerships of the Penticton South Okanagan Similkameen Regional RCMP Detachment, is inviting the public to attend a selection of events.

Those interested can chose to attend a presentation involving an introduction to the program, a viewing of the BC RCMP production Planting the Seeds, and a question-and-answer session with the Program Manager and Program Volunteers.

For those seeking a different educational experience that will combine theatrical art and education, the Evening of Justice and Theatre event will be a dramatized performance of a criminal law trial by the Justice Theatre of the People’s Law School.

For more information about the events, or to reserve a space at the Evening of Justice and Theatre, please contact the Program Coordinator of South Okanagan Similkameen Restorative Justice at 250-490-2372.
