Chicago Fire rookie Harrison Shipp's second-half goal ties match 1-1 against Toronto FC

BRIDGEVIEW, Ill. - Rookie Harrison Shipp's second-half goal gave the Chicago Fire a 1-1 draw with short-handed Toronto FC on a rainy Wednesday night.

The Fire had their winless run pushed to five games and Toronto's undefeated streak reached six games.

Chicago (2-4-9) levelled the match in the 56th minute after Shipp's deflected shot inside the penalty area squeaked past goalkeeper Joe Bendik. It was Shipp's sixth goal of the season.

Toronto FC (6-4-3) was reduced to 10 men when forward Luke Moore was sent off in the 29th minute after leading with an elbow on a challenge with Chris Ritter.

Toronto's goal came in the 42nd minute when Jermain Defoe settled a long ball near the end line and floated a cross to the back post. An unmarked Jackson headed it past Sean Johnson.

Gilberto, one of the offensive stars in Toronto's last match, did not play because of a hip injury.
