TORONTO - Interim coach Colin Miller has summoned a young squad as he tries to rebuild the Canadian men's soccer team after a humiliating World Cup qualifying loss in Honduras.
Miller will lead Canada in friendlies against Denmark and the U.S. later this month.
Ten players have been invited to the senior squad for the first time. Eight were part of the Canadian under-23 program last year.
With an average age of 25, it's the youngest Canadian senior team assembled since May 2006.
Only four players saw game action in Canada's recent failed World Cup qualifying campaign: Dwayne De Rosario, Nik Ledgerwood, Lars Hirschfeld and Tosaint Ricketts.
