Looks like winter is not quite done with us in the Southern Interior.
Environment Canada has issued special weather statements in the South Thompson, Nicola, Shuswap and Okanagan regions calling for snow today, April 13.
Up to 10 cm of snow is expected to accumulate by this afternoon on the Coquihalla, Okanagan Connector, and the Trans-Canada Highway. Then an additional 10 cm of snow is possible tonight.
Drive B.C. is reporting slippery road conditions on the Coq north of Merritt, and compact snow on the Connector.
This year the Province extended winter tire requirements until May 1 on some routes, in consideration of spring snows like this.
