A new cider pub on Skaha Lake has been opening slowly over the past month and while there’s still more to do before operating at full capacity, customers are already showing up for cold cider and juicy meals.

“It’s hot, I’m trying to get shade sails set up on the patio,” owner of Beachfoot Beach Cider, Isaac Potash, said. “We are just trying to get open, complete the menu and get staffed up. But it’s been good so far, the campers are coming out.”

Potash is the co-founder at Upside Cider in Kelowna and signed a five year lease to bring his organic ciders to Penticton for the summer months at a “summertime satellite bar” on the beach at the Barefoot Beach Resort campground.

Along with six Upside Cider organic ciders on tap are two local Penticton beers on tap, some mainstream beers and a menu of tacos, burgers, fried chicken and hamburgers.

So far the fan favourite is gluten free smoked pork tacos on lettuce wraps with fresh peach pico de gallo and a chipotle aioli on top.

“We slowly smoke the pork shoulder and we have a damn good chef,” Potash said.
