An armed robbery left no one injured in Kelowna early this morning, Sept. 8, but the suspect left with cash and merchandise.

The man walked into a business on the 1000-block of Glenmore Drive wielding a shotgun, demanding cash, according to a press release from Kelowna RCMP.

Police were called to the business around 1:30 a.m., but they could not locate the suspect after a search of the area.

A tall Caucasian male fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of money and merchandise from the store, police say.

“Fortunately no one was injured in this robbery, but the worker was extremely shaken by this incident,” says Kelowna RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Jocelyn Noseworthy in the release. “We are appealing to anyone with information to come forward and speak to us immediately.”

The suspect had a medium build and was wearing blue jeans, a baseball cap, plaid jacket, gloves and his face was partially covered.
