LANGFORD, B.C. - An early-morning sexual assault on a trail in Langford, B.C., has police warning people to be extra cautious.
RCMP say a woman in her early 20s was walking alone at about 2 a.m. Thursday when she was grabbed by a man who dragged her about 100 metres down the Galloping Goose Trail, where she was assaulted.
Mounties say the woman was able to flee and flag down a passing motorist and that police were immediately called and flooded the area.
Insp. Larry Chomyn says a police dog was deployed but did not to locate the suspect, who was wearing dark pants with a reflective stripe down the side of each leg.
Chomyn says the man may have fresh scratches on his arms or upper body.
The woman spent several hours in hospital before being released.
