SURREY, B.C. - RCMP are crediting a woman for providing an excellent description of a man who's been charged with sexually assaulting her in Surrey.
Video surveillance and forensic evidence collected at the scene on Feb. 1 also led to the arrest of 21-year-old Waheed Faiyaz.
He allegedly committed the offence in Surrey's City Centre area.
Cpl. Bert Paquet says work by investigators from several units, including the RCMP's sexual offence team, paid off in what Mounties are calling a successful arrest.
Faiyaz has been remanded in custody and was scheduled to make a court appearance Tuesday.
