Search teams called as localized flooding reported near Enderby, B.C.

ENDERBY - Localized flooding east of Enderby is causing problems in the North Okanagan region.

Vernon Search and Rescue teams have been scrambled due to concerns some residents may have been cut off by the high water.

Search master Leigh Pearson says details are sketchy, but either the Shuswap River or a tributary has burst its banks.

It's believed flooding is occurring about 25 kilometres east of Enderby, along Enderby Mable Lake Road.

Pearson says teams have also been advised to watch for the possibility of downed power lines.

Severe floods hit the region between Kamloops and Revelstoke in June and July 2012, with Sicamous and Mara Lake communities, just north of Enderby, especially hard hit, but B.C.'s River Forecast Centre currently has no warnings or advisories in effect.
