Search ends for little dog lost after crash on Coquihalla

The little dog that went missing after running away following a car accident on the Coquihalla Highway this past weekend has been found dead.

Aaron Proudfoot said in a Facebook post his family's dog Lippy went missing Sunday, Jan. 3, after they were involved in a rollover on Highway 5 between Hope and Merritt.

Proudfoot said the incident occurred roughly four kilometres north of the Juliet exit heading in the westbound direction.

He updated the post to let the community know that Lippy was found. He said the little dog died after she was hit by a vehicle.

"We have confirmation from (the Ministry of Transportation), that Lippy will be resting easy now. She will be in our hearts forever as well as every person who reached out in every way no matter how big or small. It’s not possible to name everyone so this ones for you. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts," Proudfoot wrote.

The original post about the lost dog was shared more than 100,000 times and gathered more than 500 reactions and 300 comments.
