Inflation may be sky-high but airfare prices remain competitive for anyone flying out of Kelowna.

Air Canada and WestJet round trips from Kelowna to Hawaii can be found for $340, with one layover in Vancouver, in the next few weeks.

YLWdeals.com, which give instructions on how to find such deals, reminds travellers that accommodations and rental cars on the island are “notoriously expensive.”

Flying within Canada is also much more affordable than it used to be.

Flights back and forth from Vancouver or Victoria can be as cheap as $76, Calgary roundtrips start at $83, flights to Ottawa and back are going for $125, and a two-way ticket to Toronto starts at $172 through low cost carriers.

The cheaper deals are thanks to the introduction of ultra-low cost carriers in Canada.

But for anybody booking at these low prices, it’s important to pack light because there’s only one free carry-on. It’s an extra $60 for one checked bag.
