SASKATOON - NDP Leader Cam Broten has lost his seat in the Saskatchewan provincial election.
It was a tight race in Saskatoon Westview, but Broten could not pull ahead in the final polls.
It was the first election for Broten as head of the New Democrats.
Saskatoon Westview is one of three constituencies that were added to the electoral map before this year's vote.
Broten is the second NDP leader in a row to lose his seat in a general election.
Dwain Lingenfelter lost his Regina seat in 2011
