Fire at refinery in Regina; blast felt downtown; no further information

REGINA - There are reports of a fire at a refinery in Regina.

People heard an explosion from the area of the Federated Co-op refinery around the city and there were plumes of smoke.

Fire crews were heading out to the area of the Co-op upgrader in northeast Regina.

The blast could be felt as far away as downtown and people say they could feel the explosion as well.

Flames are visible from a stack.

Fire officials were not available for comment.
