NEW WESTMINSTER, B.C. - A Coquitlam man has been found guilty of impaired driving causing death and dangerous driving causing death for a fatal hit-and-run crash that killed a Good Samaritan.
Charlene Reaveley, a mother of four, and her husband pulled over on the Lougheed highway in February 2011 to help Lorraine Cruz after her car hit a barricade.
As their partners stood nearby, a vehicle driven by Cory Sater hit and instantly killed both women.
A B.C. Supreme Court judge found Sater had consumed six double rye-and-Cokes and two Jaeger bombs at a bar before getting behind the wheel of his white Jeep that day.
Sater pleaded guilty at the start of his trial last October to fleeing the scene of a fatal accident.
He will return to court to be sentenced on March 31. (CBC)
