Salmon Arm RCMP collar impaired drivers over long weekend

SALMON ARM - Two drivers were caught with drugs and alcohol in their system when Salmon Arm RCMP held road checks and patrols over the Canada Day long weekend.

The detachment held two road checks over the weekend and over the three days stopped “no less than four drivers” for alleged impaired driving, according to an RCMP press release. The four drivers received immediate roadside prohibitions and had their vehicles impounded. Staff Sgt. Scott West says more drivers may have been stopped for impaired driving.

One of the two drivers caught with drugs and alcohol in their system driver hit a concrete divider, causing $1,000 in damage to the vehicle.
