Running through an orchard didn’t work out for Kelowna fugitive

KELOWNA - A 34-year-old Kelowna man was outside his East Kelowna Road residence yesterday when RCMP reserve officers arrived hoping to arrest him for numerous court violations.

When they got to the property at about 11:45 a.m. today, Feb. 26, they spotted the man and told him he was under arrest. He took off into a neighbouring orchard, according to an RCMP news release.

Front-line officers were called in, along with a police dog, and they soon nabbed the suspect without further incident.

He appeared before a judge later in the day to answer to his court violations.
