Rockets tame Tigers at Prospera

KELOWNA - The Kelowna Rockets defeated the Medicine Hat Tigers 6-2 on Friday night at Prospera Place, scoring three times in the third period to break open a tight game and win its eighth straight contest at Prospera Place.

Rourke Chartier and Madison Bowey each scored a goal and had two assists while Jordon Cooke was solid again in net, winning his 29th game of the season as the Rockets improved to a WHL-best 39-6-0-2 on the season.

Myles Bell had his team-leading 28th goal of the season and Ryan Olsen's 23rd was the game winning goal.

Carter Rigby and Mitchell Wheaton added singles in the win.

Medicine Hat opened the scoring and led 1-0 after the first period as Ty Stanton had the period's only goal. But the Rockets took control in the second, scoring three times in each of the game's final periods.

The win is the Rockets eight straight at Prospera Place as the team gets set to host Lethbridge on Saturday night before traveling to Seattle on Sunday to take on the Thunderbirds.

Attendance Friday was 5,429 and there are tickets are available for Saturday's game through www.selectyourtickets.com.
