SPOKANE - The Kelowna Rockets defeated the Spokane Chiefs 2-1 on Wednesday night in Spokane, scoring in the game's final minute to get the victory.

Cole Linaker scored his eighth goal of the season with just 27 seconds remaining in the third period, snapping a 1-1 tie as the Rockets won to improve to 45-8-0-4 on the season.

The Rockets led 1-0 after the first and second periods of play as a power play goal by Myles Bell, his team-leading 38th of the season, was the only goal through two periods of play.

Early in the third period, Reid Gow tied the game 1-1, setting the stage for Linaker's game winner late in the third.

Jordon Cooke earned the win in net, stopping 29 of 30 shots he faced. The Rockets outshot Spokane 34-30.

It was the Rockets second win in a row after Monday's 7-3 win over Seattle.

Kelowna will return to Prospera Place on Friday night to host the Prince George Cougars.
