Rockets beat Blazers 3-2 in Kelowna

The Kelowna Rockets defeated the Kamloops Blazers 3-2 at Prospera Place on Tuesday night.
It was a goaltenders battle as both teams had plenty of quality scoring chances.
The Blazers opened the scoring early in the frame, but the Rockets responded before the period was out as Kole Lind continued to increase his draft stock, putting home his 20th of the season to tie the game at 1-1. The score was tied at the break.
The Rockets controlled the second period recording 16 shots in the frame, but they only managed to squeak one past Blazers netminder Dylan Ferguson. Nolan Foote scored the Rockets go ahead goal. It was 2-1 after 40 minutes.
The third period was back and forth but both goalies held the gates shut until Conner Bruggen-Cate put home an empty netter to seal it for the Rockets. The Blazers would score with 24 seconds remaining but it wouldn’t be enough. the score finished at 3-2.
The Rockets improve to 23-12-2-0 on the season.
The Blazers fall to 21-14-1-1 on the year.
Michael Herringer improves to 17-8-1-0 on the season stopping 30 of 32 shots faced.
The Rockets and Blazers are right back at it tomorrow night in Kamloops for the second half of their double header.
The Rockets next home game is Friday night when they host another divisional rival in the Victoria Royals.
