The Trans-Canada Highway has reopened in one section following a mudslide in the Shuswap yesterday.

Highway 1 was closed last night and into the morning after a mudslide between Tappen Beach Road and 65 Avenue NW, according to Drive B.C. The road has since reopened but delays are expected.

Muddy sections of the highway between Spences Bridge to Lytton also caused the road's closure but that has also reopened, according to DriveB.C.

The River Forecast Centre issued flood advisories for the Interior.

In the Thompson Basin, flood watches for Spius Creek near Canford and Nicola River near Spences Bridge are ongoing.

The rest of the Thompson is under a high streamflow advisory.

The Okanagan and Boundary basins are under a flood watch while the Similkameen basin is under a high streamflow advisory.

Flood watches are less severe than flood warnings, which have not been issued in the region.

More information on road closures and detours can be found on DriveB.C.'s website.

- This story was updated at 11:46 a.m. as Highway 1 in the Shuswap has reopened.
