PENTICTON - Members of the public will have an opportunity to speak to a proposed rezoning on Nelson Avenue in Penticton on Feb.7.
Penticton city council agreed at the regular council meeting Jan. 10 to a zoning amendment that would allow front-to-back duplexes to be constructed on lots located at 457 and 461 Nelson Ave.
The proposal would see the two properties rezoned from small lot residential to duplex and recreation.
In a report to council, staff note the rezoning, which would not involve a variance, is consistent with the official community plan’s direction for infill residential housing because it maximizes land use and increases housing choices.
Council passed first reading of the amendment which goes to a public hearing on Feb. 7.
