Kelowna RCMP are warning about thefts from vehicles downtown.
The majority of the thefts have been reported in the downtown core, but they've also been committed throughout the city at various shopping location parking lots, provincial park parking lots and in residential neighbourhoods, according to an RCMP media release.
Police are finding many of the thefts involve unlocked vehicles with valuables left in plain sight.
RCMP are reminding drivers to avoid leaving items in their vehicles, and typical items stolen include: purses, wallets, credit cards, GPS devices, cell phones or electronics, house keys, cash, clothing and sunglasses.
If you see any suspicious persons or activities near a vehicle, the RCMP ask you call them.
RCMP are also advising the public to check their licence plates, as car thieves will often steal licence plates from similar vehicles and attach them to stolen vehicles in hopes of evading police detection.
