RCMP track down two lost hikers in the Shuswap

SALMON ARM – Police came to the aid of two lost hikers who had run out of water in the Shuswap yesterday.

RCMP say the two women, aged 51 and 54, called emergency services on their cell phones on July 3 at 11:39 a.m. because they lost their way.

The women were between White Lake and Eagle Bay but weren't exactly sure where they were, according to an RCMP media release.

Officers spoke with a local land owner and used information from the hikers to find them.
