KAMLOOPS -  The hunt is on for the suspect in a Kamloops gas station robbery.

The clerk at the Canco Gas Station in the 200 block of Tranquille Road was robbed early in the morning yesterday, Feb. 10.

The suspect entered the gas station and demanded the clerk to put money in a black cloth grocery bag, then left towards the Overlander Bridge on foot, according to an RCMP media release. Police say the clerk was not hurt.

It is not known if the suspect was male or female but they are described as standing 5'8" tall, wearing an olive green army-style thick coat, over a Carhartt brown jacket and over a blue checkered hoodie. The suspect was also wearing light blue gloves, and had a black neck-gator over the bottom of their face.

At this time police say there is no evidence suggesting this robbery is connected to any other robbery that has recently occurred in Kamloops.

Police say surveillance photos are not yet available.

If you have any information about this suspect you can contact Kamloops RCMP at 250-828-3000, or remain anonymous and call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
