RCMP offering harm reduction seminar for Kamloops parents

KAMLOOPS - As the summer months roll around and kids get a break from school, the RCMP in Kamloops are letting parents know about a harm reduction seminar.

RCMP say a free information session focusing on summer harm reduction for parents and teens will be held next week. It's sponsored by RCMP, School District 73, The Phoenix Centre and Interior Chemical Dependency Office.

The City of Kamloops will provide free transit passes so that members of the public can get to the event, according to a media release. They can be picked up at the North or South Shore RCMP detachments.

The seminar is being held at the Henry Grube Education Centre on Kitchener Crescent next Tuesday, June 27 at 6 p.m.

RCMP say free snacks, resources and give aways will be offered. The night will feature community presentations and a panel, along with naloxone information.
