ARMSTRONG - RCMP are appealing to the public in hopes of identifying a suspect in a robbery at a gas station in Armstrong last week.

RCMP says just before midnight on Tuesday, May 21, a man entered the Esso gas station at 3210 Smith Dr. in Armstrong and demanded money.

The man took an undisclosed amount of cash from an open drawer and fled the scene in a silver vehicle, according to an RCMP media release. The employee was not injured during the robbery.

RCMP say extensive patrols for the suspect were made but he was not located.

The suspect is described as a Caucasian male, approximately 25 years old and 6' tall. He was wearing a black hooded sweater, blue jeans, black running shoes, a grey toque with a red bandanna over his face and dark-rimmed sunglasses. The suspect's hoody had the Billa Bong logo on the front, with the words BILLA on the top and BONG on the bottom of a picture of a wave.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Armstrong RCMP detachment at 250-546-3028. You can remain anonymous by calling Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477, or leaving a tip online at www.nokscrimestoppers.com.
