The RCMP is asking the public to help officers identify a vehicle that was involved in a stabbing last month in Kelowna.

Shortly after midnight on Dec. 18, the vehicle – believed to be a black Ford Explorer – approached three men near the intersection of Lawrence Avenue and Ellis Street, according to an RCMP press release.

After a confrontation, one of the three men was stabbed by a male suspect associated to the SUV.

“This was an unprovoked act of violence,” said Cpl. Tammy Lobb, Kelowna RCMP’s media relations officer.

“If anyone has information about this stabbing, our investigators want to hear from them”.

Officers say the vehicle has a single-kayak roof rack.

If anybody witnessed the event or may have dash cam footage to it, they are asked to contact the General Investigative Support Team, which is leading the investigation. Contact them by sending an email and reference file 21-82304.
